FAQ

Dr. Alyssa will meet you in the front reception area of Bridge Wellness Center, and welcome you into a private treatment room. You'll be able to share your story, symptoms and goals without feeling rushed.
You'll get a thorough, head-to-toe evaluation based on your goals and symptoms. We often look at posture, breathing, abdominal and hip strength, range of motion/flexibility, as well as functional movements such as squats and lunges. This could include an internal pelvic floor muscle exam if you consent.
You will leave with a treatment plan and the start of your personalized home program.
I know coming to pelvic floor therapy can be intimidating, but I’ll make sure you're comfortable throughout your treatment.
Our goal is for you to feel educated and empowered by the end of the session.

I recommend starting at the beginning of your second trimester of pregnancy, unless symptoms start sooner. I often see you monthly throughout pregnancy, then at 32-34 weeks for a pelvic floor birth prep appointment and 37 weeks for a postpartum recovery education appointment.
We, then, resume pelvic floor PT between 2-6 weeks postpartum. Then, every 2 weeks until 12 weeks. After this point, together we will assess what is best moving forward, maybe monthly, maybe 3 months from now.
We will work together to find what is best for you and your needs.

I do NOT accept insurance. I am an out of network provider. However, you can use an HSA/FSA card.
I can also give you a superbill, (special receipt that includes the diagnosis codes & procedure codes) that you can then submit to your insurance for out of network benefits. Every plan is different so please contact your insurance for what they might cover.
I don’t accept insurance so I can provide you with the quality care you deserve without the restrictions from insurance. We decide together what the best treatment, frequency, and duration is, not your insurance company.
